My Journey

100% committed to serve God from the inside out!

Very rough week and very rough day!!

It’s been a very emotional draining week being away from my husband, mother-in-law being in the hospital and today just added to my emotion.  We found out at work today that our department is being let go on August 15th.  I cried so hard in my office having so many feelings that i’ve held in this week.  I loved this job and I have no idea what I’m going to do in August.  I decided tonight to spend the evening alone and put in some worship music and opened the word.  This is going to be a step of faith and trust for me.  A song came on called “At the cross” by Hillsong that talks about laying everything at the cross and right now i’m having to face plant myself at His feet.  I read some verses tonight that I’m going to tape up on my mirror and at work so I thought these verses might help anyone else who is struggling right now.

I Peter 1:2-5
“Whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for you.  For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.  So let it grow, for when you endurance if fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything.  If you need wisdom-if you want to know what God wants your to do-ask Him, and he will gladly tell you.  He will not resent your asking.”

Romans 5:3-5
“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us-they help us learn to endure.  And endurance develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation.  And this expectation will not disappoint us.  For we know how dearly God love us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.”

At the Cross Lyrics:
VERSE I
Oh Lord You’ve searched me,
You know my way;
Even when I fail You,
I know You love me.
Your holy presence
Surrounding me
In every season,
I know You love me;
I know You love me.

CHORUS:
At the cross I bow my knee,
Where Your blood was shed for me,
There’s no greater love than this.
You have overcome the grave,
Your glory fills the highest place,
What can separate me now?

VERSE 2:
You go before me,
You shield my way,
Your hand upholds me;
I know You love me.

BRIDGE:
You tore the veil, You made a way
When You said that it is done.

And when the earth fades,
Falls from my eyes,
And You stand before me,
I know You love me;
I know You love me.

God’s grace

I am building my life on the foundation of God’s grace.

We may be well acquainted with the idea that we receive in life in direct relation to what we give to life. However, when it comes to the grace of God, there is nothing we must give to receive it. Grace is a gift from God that is absolute and without qualification.

Because this is so, I choose to live my life based upon the foundation of God’s grace. I do this by pausing to realize that God’s presence is in and all around me as life, love, and wholeness.

I understand that people, conditions, the weather, and even the land are continually changing. The one thing that never changes is the presence of God in it all and the grace of God blessing all. I give thanks this day and every day for the grace of God, the foundation upon which I can and do build my life.

“I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that has been given you in Christ Jesus.”–1 Corinthians 1:4

I want to be ready

Are you ready?  Are you ready for the Lord to come?  Are you ready to take up your cross and completely follow Him?  Are you ready to lay down your pride and start being a disciple?  These are a few things that have been on my heart for the past couple of weeks.  I have fallen as a disciple of Christ because I haven’t followed Him the way I’ve been instructed to.  I’ve let the world and the opinions of others stop me from being the kind of disciple I have been called to be.  It’s so bizarre how others can totally change the way God has told you to live.  Think about it…when has God talked to you and told you what you need to do as a disciple but the reaction and words of others have overpowered the Lord.  My challenge is to lay down my pride and start listening and doing what God has told me.  I found these lyrics called “I want to be ready” by Shawn McDonald and it is exactly what I want..I want to be ready!  I want to be ready to share the gospel at any moment, I want to feel the Lord’s presence 24/7, I want to start living my life for Him and not for others.  How about you…are you ready?

Lyrics:

I want to be ready
When the Son Almighty comes
To lay claim to Him
And Him, alone
I want to be ready
To stand at His side
For His eyes to gaze upon me
In His glory and might

I want to be ready
I want to be ready
I want to be ready
For Him and Him, alone
I want to be

I want to be ready
To cry out His name
To lay up in His arms
Delight in His fame
I want to be ready
To be embraced by His love
Before Thee Almighty
To take me up above

I want to be ready
I want to be ready
I want to be ready
For Him and Him alone
I want to be ready
I want to be ready
I want to be… ready

To gaze upon Your throne
To give You all I own
O My King
To fall upon my knees
To give You all the glory

I want to be ready
I want to be ready
I want to be ready
For You alone
I want to be
