Very rough week and very rough day!!
It’s been a very emotional draining week being away from my husband, mother-in-law being in the hospital and today just added to my emotion. We found out at work today that our department is being let go on August 15th. I cried so hard in my office having so many feelings that i’ve held in this week. I loved this job and I have no idea what I’m going to do in August. I decided tonight to spend the evening alone and put in some worship music and opened the word. This is going to be a step of faith and trust for me. A song came on called “At the cross” by Hillsong that talks about laying everything at the cross and right now i’m having to face plant myself at His feet. I read some verses tonight that I’m going to tape up on my mirror and at work so I thought these verses might help anyone else who is struggling right now.
I Peter 1:2-5
“Whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for you. For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when you endurance if fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything. If you need wisdom-if you want to know what God wants your to do-ask Him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking.”
Romans 5:3-5
“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us-they help us learn to endure. And endurance develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation. And this expectation will not disappoint us. For we know how dearly God love us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.”
At the Cross Lyrics:
VERSE I
Oh Lord You’ve searched me,
You know my way;
Even when I fail You,
I know You love me.
Your holy presence
Surrounding me
In every season,
I know You love me;
I know You love me.
CHORUS:
At the cross I bow my knee,
Where Your blood was shed for me,
There’s no greater love than this.
You have overcome the grave,
Your glory fills the highest place,
What can separate me now?
VERSE 2:
You go before me,
You shield my way,
Your hand upholds me;
I know You love me.
BRIDGE:
You tore the veil, You made a way
When You said that it is done.
And when the earth fades,
Falls from my eyes,
And You stand before me,
I know You love me;
I know You love me.
